10th St Project, North Vancouver
Location: North Vancouver, BC
Project Scope:
This dated 1980s home on the beautiful North Shore of Vancouver was in need of a refresh. Our clients reached out to us to work on their entryway, dining room, and living room.
The entryway was originally flanked by walls with window-like holes. We filled these to define each space, furnish appropriately and add much-needed storage for this busy family. We added custom storage with a small bench to conveniently stash jackets and shoes. Opposite the closet, we partially filled the wall hole to create the perfect area to display a mirror.
In the dining room, our clients wanted to keep their existing dining table and chairs. So, we refreshed every other piece to elevate the space, while keeping it casual to fit their lifestyle.
Our clients have a large living room where they recently added a sectional, rug, and coffee table. We were called in to help with the finishing touches. We added a large piece of art, a textural table lamp, and a wood sideboard with styling pieces. We also added a mirror above the fireplace to bounce the light from the opposite sliding glass doors. To complete the space, we created a cozy corner using their existing leather accent chair; inviting our homeowners to cuddle up with a good book and tea.
Though they wondered if filling the walls would make their home feel smaller, our clients trusted our vision and the process. Ultimately, doing this did the opposite. By defining each room, their home instantly felt larger and they are so happy with the end result.
